"Spruce Line" is based on a grove of spruces near Spruce Lake, between Raccoon Run and Spruce Line.  I was attracted to the tall, slender trunks and the exposed lower branches.  I'm incredibly happy with this piece, the background trees were done in a solid layer of masking fluid (liquid latex used to mask out the tree forms in my work) -when you remove the latex it shows brushstrokes and textures from bubbles etc.  These really showed up well in this piece, inspiring an entire series of small work that will be posted when finished.  Click here to see a close-up.
